American Textile Company builds hospitality offering

DUQUESNE, PA—American Textile Company is experiencing a growth spurt of sorts, with a new hospitality division—and the addition of Tim Keegan as SVP of hospitality sales to lead that effort.

Keegan cited confidence in the strength of the company’s brands and growth in the past decade as some of the reasons why the time is ripe to go after other opportunities. “We’ve recently secured licensing deals with Sealy and Tempur-Pedic and have become known in the space for innovative sleeping solutions. Many of the American Textile innovations developed for consumer use have been modified to stand up to the rigors of hotel use,” said Keegan.

Prior to joining American Textile Company, Keegan spent more than 25 years with Pacific Coast Feather Company, helping build businesses focused on new-product innovation with a consumer-centric focus.

“That gave me critical experience and knowledge in the bedding industry, which translates to the hospitality bedding sector I work in now,” he said. “Our team at American Textile has incredible knowledge breadth and depth of new technologies in fabrics, fills and product design that I believe hotel guests are looking for. The team we have is absolutely top tier and the product ideas highly desired in the hotel channel.”

With the build-out of the hospitality offering comes the launch of a new program and new products, with a steady stream of new product in the pipeline throughout 2018-2019.

“Our hospitality research and development team has many incubator products being tested by consumers that will be evaluated for hotel use continually as part of our product development process,” he said. “Our broad array of offerings will fit all channels in the hotel brand market.”

American Textile Company’s recent growth also means jobs, noted Keegan, including roughly 50 jobs across the company’s North American locations, some of which will be in the hospitality division. There will be more clients, too.

“We already see hospitality growth heading into 2018 and will be adding jobs to drive the business,” he said. “I can’t address specifics just yet, but we’re poised to capitalize on the huge potential of this industry with products that are ahead of the curve addressing consumer needs. We just closed a major U.S. program that will launch in the next few months. Another exciting component of the new division focus is with the new plant expansions that have occurred throughout multiple locations, including Salt Lake City; Tifton, GA; and Dallas. American Textile has built the infrastructure to deliver product exceptionally fast while meeting all hotel quality requirements.” HB
