As we’re wrapping up the November 21st issue—and, soon, another year—the focus of the editorial staff has turned to the annual Green Book (not to be confused, of course, with the movie of the same name out now!) and the December 15th issue, our yearly “10 to Watch” edition.
If you’re reading this right now, the official deadline for submissions for the Green Book has passed—the published deadline was November 16—but if you missed it and are being reminded right now, drop me a quick note at [email protected] and let me know. We’re working against deadlines, but I might be able to still get you in if you notify me. Remember—and I say this every year, but every year, we get asked—yes, you must submit a survey in the appropriate category(ies) for your company in order to be included on each of the lists: architects & designers; brands; brokers; construction companies; management companies; owners & developers; purchasing companies; and sources of funding. And in order to be ranked, you must include all of the information we ask for (ranking, as opposed to listing, applies to architects & designers, brands, management companies and owners & developers).
Now, let me whet your appetite, so to speak, for our “10 to Watch.” Each year, the editorial staff collaborates to feature 10 industry professionals we think not only Hotel Business should keep an eye on in 2019, but ones you should, too. A lot of careful thought goes into our selections, and they are largely based on major news and announcements in 2018. We’re excited to bring you the stories of the following industry executives, and hope you’ll agree that they’re worth our continued attention.
You can look forward to reading about: Mia Kyricos, Hyatt’s first-ever global head of wellbeing; Sam Nazarian, founder/CEO, sbe; Leslie Hale, CEO, RLJ; Jon Bortz, president & CEO, Pebblebrook; Andy Alexander, president, Red Roof; Alexandra Jaritz, SVP & global head, Tru by Hilton; Jennifer Gribble, VP of the Americas at IHG, Avid; Dave Johnson, CEO and chairman, Aimbridge Hospitality; Jagruti Panwala, chairwoman, AAHOA; and Ken Greene, president/ Americas, Radisson Hotel Group.
At first glance, it may be obvious why some of these industry headliners and newsmakers made our list—after all, who hasn’t been following the Pebblebrook/LaSalle merger?—but others, such as Mia Kyricos, you may not be as familiar with, and we’re happy to introduce you to them on the pages of Hotel Business. Stay tuned…
