It’s always interesting—and even fun—to recall products that were, at one time, the must-haves, especially when put into the context of the here and now. We picked an assortment of products—complete with their reader service numbers; remember those?—that appeared in various issues from 1992, and those that really reflected the needs of the times. Considering how far we’ve come in terms of product development, technology and services, it really is a quick snapshot of the past. With BYOD and personal content running the tech scene nowadays, Showtime, at the time, realized the value of in-room entertainment. Before cellphones (was there a time?), the guestroom phone was made extra-special with the addition of personalized voicemail. And floppy disks? We need not say more…
