Fairmont guests tour CA in a Maserati

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts encourages guests to take a ride

SAN FRANCISCO—A luxury hotel and a luxury car: an incomparable pairing that Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is bringing to guests in the Golden State with new getaway packages. The brand is offering different stay options; each of the four packages gives guests the best amenities, local experiences and sights, all from the comfort of traveling in a performance vehicle.

“Providing guests carefully curated packages that showcase the best of a destination allows guests to truly experience the ‘best of’ while maximizing every moment of their holiday,” said Michelle Gilman, regional director of sales & marketing at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

“The City to Vines Drive Package” offers the best of both worlds: city and country. This package includes two nights at Fairmont San Francisco and two nights at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, along with a four-day Maserati rental (or luxury car of guests’ choice). This package offers guests a differentiated trip, allowing them to experience all of the sights behind the wheel of their fantasy car.

“This package epitomizes California Dreamin’; there is so much to see and do in Northern California, from wineries, beaches and the legendary Redwood forests (and that’s just scratching the surface), the ‘City to Vines’ package allows you to take in the sites at your own pace,” Gilman said.

Guests can explore San Francisco and city sights, then venture to wine country to enjoy Sonoma’s geothermal hot springs, a Willow Stream spa credit and breakfast for two daily. This is especially attractive to guests who don’t know where to start when planning an all-encompassing California road trip, offering a comprehensive taste of the state’s highlights, according to the company.

“‘The City to Vines’ package showcases the very best of Northern California, a stay at the iconic Fairmont San Francisco, touring the coast, the mountains and/or wine country in a luxury car and relaxing at the celebrated Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa,” Gilman said. “This package was created to provide discerning guests a turnkey experiential offering that highlights two of California’s legendary hotels. We’ve taken a lot of the guesswork out of planning the quintessential California road trip vacation. Because the package includes two favorite Bay Area destinations and California’s favorite pastime, cruising our legendary back roads, the ‘City to Vines’ package is truly the ultimate travel experience.”

“The Opposite of Ordinary” package in Santa Monica offers a slightly different experience for guests. Guests can truly get away with a stay in a private bungalow at Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows and receive a dining credit at Fig restaurant; a spa credit; private table at The Bungalow with a bottle of Dom Perignon; complimentary valet parking and to top it off, a two-day Maserati GranCabrio rental.

“‘The Opposite of Ordinary’ package is true rock-star living. Check in to one of our private bungalows, grab the keys to your Maserati convertible, take down the top and head north for what is arguably the most beautiful stretch of beach in the world,” Gilman said. “After an exhilarating spin, return to your sanctuary and throw yourself at the mercy of one of our renowned masseuses; sometimes you just have to let go.”

“A Key to the Grand Life” package also gives guests luxurious F&B experiences. The package includes two nights in the Fairmont Grand Del Mar’s presidential suite in San Diego, a dinner for two with a chef’s tasting menu, daily breakfast for two with a bottle of Moët Champagne and a spa and/or golf club credit with a two-day Maserati rental.

The final package is aptly named “California Road Trip” and features an overnight stay at Claremont Club & Spa just outside of the Bay Area along with a one-day Maserati GranTurismo convertible rental.

“In the ever-competitive world of luxury hotels, we’re always upping the ante for luxury-loving guests. Our teams are always researching over-the-top experiences,” Gilman said. “The hotels take great pride in curating offerings that add value or showcase exclusive offerings. Our packages cater to wanderlusting trailblazers with passions and interests of all kinds: food and wine enthusiasts, spa, golf, bicycling.”

In addition to hotel amenity and dining offers, what truly sets these programs apart are the vehicle partnerships, giving Fairmont a unique way to let guests enjoy all of the perks at their leisure, and to do so in style.

“Fairmont partners with car brands that share brand positioning. These partnerships benefit both the hotel and the car brands by borrowing brand equity from one another,” Gilman said. “We’re in a competitive market and we’re always trying to find new and creative services and amenities to offer guests.”

While this is all enticing, it may seem a bit overwhelming. How do guests go about choosing which package will meet their getaway needs? With each offering so much, Gilman recommends focusing on accommodation rather than destination to find which package is best for each unique traveler.

According to Gilman, booking an experiential package tells the Fairmont story. “Who are the local businesses we associate with? What kinds of experiences should guests expect while staying at our hotels? What kinds of guests will they interact with in our lobbies, restaurants and spas?” Gilman said. “These packages provide guests opportunities to experience what is local, connecting travelers to the best of nearby communities.” HB
