A few words from Christina Trauthwein

Inspiration. Demonstration. Implementation. Innovation. All words associated with many of our jobs—specifically, if you’re in a design-driven profession—and all functions key to this one: Creation. I’m writing this editor’s note with my other hat on—as editor of sister publication Hotel Business Design. You see, Hotel Business reaches approximately 40,000 readers and we want to make sure the word gets out across both media brands so that our combined audience hears it.

We know many of the ownership and management firms, as well as hotel brands, who receive Hotel Business have design personnel on payroll. If you or someone in your firm is involved with hospitality design—maybe a VP of design or design director—we know you won’t want to miss our upcoming event.

So, mark your calendars and pass it along to the creative minds at your company: Tuesday, July 25, is a night sure to inspire. With a live demonstration, stories of implementation and the promise of innovation all under one very cool roof.

InspireDesign: A Sensory Experience by Hotel Business Design will feature Chicago-based tech innovator SONNY+ASH and leading design firm The Gettys Group, who will show—and tell—how and why virtual and augmented reality is not only the future, but the here and now, as tools to both design hotel environments and to deliver truly progressive client presentations. Believe me, here at Hotel Business, some of the editors—myself included—got to try it out in our Long Island, NY office, and what a game changer! If you haven’t donned a pair of goggles and immersed yourself in an interior or picked chairs from a digital catalog and placed—and moved—them within a space, taking two dimensions to three, you’re in for a real treat.

But the evening event, which will be held at The Chicago Institute of Architecture, will provide more than a hands-on approach to creating cutting-edge design: It’s an opportunity to network with like-minded colleagues over a glass of wine and light bites, view the Impressionist gallery, which will be open to guests, and be inspired by the entire experience.

Tickets to the event, which is open to architects and designers, are available at inspiredesignmag.com and are limited in number, so don’t miss out.

Be a part of the experience. We hope to see you there!
