Gallagher hosts roundtable for the hospitality industry

NEW ORLEANS—Insurance agents, carriers, lawyers, REITs, hotel operators, hotel owners and management companies came together in early September for the 2018 Gallagher Hospitality Roundtable, where executives discussed numerous industry topics.

“The roundtable was a success and provided an ideal platform to exchange relevant insights on a variety of emerging risk management issues within the hospitality sector among hospitality industry experts,” said Rich Clark, managing director at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Held at the InterContinental New Orleans, the meeting brought together risk management thought leaders, including Megan Canright of Forensic Analytical Consulting Services; Barry Zollman of Servpro; Dennis Artese of Anderson Kill; Clark Schweers of BDO; Jackie Collins and Sean Murphy of Gallagher; Nicole Sheth of KBR; Wayne Imrie of Beazley; Alex Ricardo of Beazley; and John Gold of Anderson Kill.

The panelists discussed emerging risk topics in the hospitality industry, including communicable and infectious diseases; mold remediation; business interruption; employment practice liability insurance (EPLI); equal pay; and cyber threats.

A couple of the thought leaders updated the panel on the current state of the hospitality industry market. Dave Gaddis with NYA Risk gave a presentation on crisis resilience.

Anderson Kill; Beazley; BDO; Distinguished Specialty; Forensic Analytical Consulting Services; Liberty Mutual; McLaurens; Risk Placement Services Inc. (RPS); and Servpro sponsored the roundtable.

“At Gallagher, we believe it is important to know our clients’ business objectives and deeply immerse ourselves within their industry, so we can effectively identify specific risk factors, assess them and develop a strategic approach and meaningful solutions ranging from risk prevention, mitigation and remediation to crisis resilience and business continuity,” Clark said. “Many worthwhile perspectives were shared, and all who attended benefitted from the dialogue and presentations.” HB
