Marriott International recently honored Midas Hospitality with its Partnership Circle Award, which is the highest honor that Marriott presents for hospitality excellence. In addition to this award, Midas also received the Guest Satisfaction Excellence Award for Marriott’s Residence Inn brand. Accepting the award was Midas Hospitality’s CEO and Managing Member David Robert (left) and VP, Development and Construction Chris Shinkle.

HRI Properties LLC (HRIP), Hyatt and public officials broke ground on construction for the dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels in downtown Tampa, FL. The event included (left to right) Mayor Bob Buckhorn, City of Tampa; Julienne Smith, Hyatt; and A. Thomas Leonhard Jr., HRI Properties.

Hyatt and S.D. Malkin Properties Inc. held a groundbreaking ceremony in Oceanside, CA, on the site where two new properties are expected to open under the Joie de Vivre Hotels and Destination Hotels brands in late 2020 (project’s exterior rendering above). The adjacent hotels together will be the largest oceanfront development in
San Diego County in more than a decade.

Independent Lodging Congress completed the organization’s first-ever event in Florida—Indie Confab: Miami. Held last month, numerous executives from hotels, F&B, finance and design came together to share their stories of success and failure and the opportunities that lie ahead.
