Nomadix unveils new network infrastructure product line

A strong wireless connection is something that has become an expectation for today’s guests. If that connection is not up to par, it can make or break a stay.

But, the wireless connection isn’t just about allowing them to download their monthly reports, access the latest YouTube video or cast their favorite movie to their TV. There are so many back-of-house systems that run on wireless—from Internet of Things (IoT) thermostats to door locks—that the entire hotel operation can come to a halt if the system goes down.“The WiFi network more and more is becoming not just a guest capability, but really required for the types of facilities that hotels are implementing on
their networks,” said Tammy Estes, chief product officer, Nomadix.

To help hotels prevent that from even being a possibility, Nomadix Inc. has introduced a newly named and expanded product line, Nomadix Networks. Adding to its portfolio of internet gateways and guest-facing technologies, the company now offers wireless access points, controllers and LAN switches designed to comply with stringent hospitality standards, according to Estes. The new product line enables hotels and multi-tenant operators to affordably upgrade their infrastructure with the latest WiFi 6 technology and effectively meet the exponential internet and IoT growth demands, while providing secure and easy management for properties.

“Nomadix has been a trusted provider of gateways in hospitality for over 25 years,” she said. “We’re really responding to multiple requests from wholesalers for a single source of all things hospitality technology. This includes networking equipment, such as wireless access points, controllers and LAN switches. It’s no surprise that providing reliable WiFi is still the number-one driver of guest satisfaction and current guest trends such as ‘work-spitality,’ video conferencing and demand for casting personal content are just further cementing that demand. We see this as a big opportunity to come in as a trusted partner and supports the WiFi needs in a hotel.”

Estes said that having these products together makes Nomadix a one-stop-shop for hoteliers’ technology needs. “While generic hardware from multiple vendors can and does coexist, it’s just not an ideal solution, especially considering the shortages that we’re all dealing with in the semiconductor industry right now,” she said. “So, with Nomadix being a single source, it’s more than just convenience. It means access to ample inventory, which I know a lot of properties are struggling with right now, as well as lower pricing.”

Working with one vendor is also a plus. “You’re not working with this vendor for your gateway, this vendor for casting and this vendor for your network,” she said. “[These] drive to lower support costs and to a better, healthier bottom line for properties.”

The company is also offering providing flexible pricing for the product line. “In addition to the standard CapEx model that is very familiar within the hospitality industry, we’re also offering a pure operating budget model with no upfront CapEx through selected partners,” said Estes. “With some of the struggles that hospitality has been facing and is starting to come out of with COVID, we think that will really help them make these needed network investments that they may have been pushing off without a large upfront capital investment right now.”

Shortly after the launch of Nomadix Networks, the company formed a partnership with WAV LLC, a full-service distributor of LTE, wireless broadband, networking and WiFi equipment, which will supply Nomadix’s suite of products through its channel across North America. WAV will provide pre-sale engineering, link licensing, stocking, network design and post-sale services for Nomadix’s product portfolio to enable hoteliers and multi-dwelling units to build reliable WiFi networks
