NEW YORK—This year’s HX: The Hotel Experience, a trade event for hotel and foodservice owners, executives, directors and general managers, held here at the Jacob K. Javits Center, November 13-15, will offer attendees “one grand experience,” with all exhibits and demos taking place on one show floor. According to event producers, attendees will experience engaging product theaters, innovative technology, inspiring industry leaders and exceptional ideas all under one roof.
Referring to the show’s format change since its rebrand two years ago from The International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show (IHMRS), Joe Spinnato, president, HANYC, said “The feedback we are getting from the floor has been all positive. It’s refreshing, it’s bright, and people are noticing the change and the difference and that’s what we were striving for. We want to make sure that this becomes once again as it was in years passed: the show to come to in the hospitality industry.”
HX 2016 attendees will have the opportunity to preview the hospitality industry’s newest trends on everything from inventive tabletops to the latest in guest amenities and technology developments. There will be more than 400 hospitality, foodservice and technology interactive exhibits and demos to explore. Attendees will also have the chance to engage in lively discussions on today’s most relevant issues with industry leaders.
Numerous sessions that touch on such topics as technology, operational excellence, sustainability, communications and marketing are scheduled throughout the day. This year’s event will also feature three on-floor stages that exclusively focus on hotel, restaurant and technology:
HX: Tech, sponsored by MasterCard, is home to technology education and will demonstrate the latest tech tools and gadgets.
HX: Onstage-Hotel will feature top hospitality leaders, who will educate attendees on subjects such as travel trends, management, leadership, and sales and marketing direction.
HX: Onstage-Restaurant will present chefs, restaurant owners and operators, and kitchen consultants and designers who will be covering what’s new and what’s next in the foodservice industry.
This year, HX is adding a new addition to the show floor called HX: Cooks. This will be in the Onstage-Restaurant area and will include industry leaders and chefs who will present on-site cooking demonstrations.
Sessions and speakers have also been announced for this year’s hospitality show. Speakers and their companies include Tao Group, PKF Hospitality Research, Google and Dream Hotel Group. Speakers will address such topics as top digital marketing trends, consumer behaviors, re-imagining the future guest experience, hotel purchasing and more.
“A great investment has been made not only by us but by our partners at New York City and New York State and, I have to say, I think it’s paying dividends,” Katherine Lugar, president & CEO, AH&LA. “The energy is high and the educational programming has been very strong. I just look around at the whole new look and feel and it’s apparent that we are on the right track.”
